What to do in Austin Today: Coffee Flights and Museums

Do you ever find yourself lounging on your couch, wondering how to make the most of your day? Well, look no further! Welcome to your ultimate guide for bite-sized Austin adventures.

Today, we're venturing into the vibrant heart of West Campus. Our journey kicks off with a delightful treat, setting the perfect tone for an exploration of one of Austin's finest museums.

Ready to embark on this adventure? Let's dive right in:

Coffee Flight from Lucky Lab

We are headed into West Campus today where we will start off our day with a delicious coffee flight from Lucky Lab. You can try 4 different types of coffee from their seasonal menu for about $20. This is the only time I ever venture out and try something other than a Vanilla Latte.

Last time I went, they had options ranging from Thai Limeaid to Orange Blossom Latte. YUM!

Grab a Bananarchy to-go!

Right next door to Lucky Lab is a food trailer called Bananarchy. Bananarchy serves frozen bananas covered in sugary goodness and are so incredibly delicious. Chocolate and sprinkles? Carmel with nuts? Vanilla with cookie crumbles? The combinations are nearly endless and all mouthwateringly good.

I think I single handedly keep this place open with the amount of bananas I buy.

Blanton Museum of Art

Next, we’re headed over to The Blanton Museum of Art! Recently (the summer of 2023) they went through some MAJOR renovations and made this place a piece of literal art from the inside-out.

Take some time exploring the grounds, appreciating the art, and finding the beauty in their impressive collection of over 18,000 pieces.

You can either walk there (it takes about 15 minutes of walking through the UT campus), or you can drive to the museum. There is a parking garage right next door and you get discounted parking when you show them your ticket.

Learn more about the museum HERE.

Arturo’s Underground Cafe

Just a 5 minute walk from The Blanton will take you to the cozy, hole in the wall restaurant, Arturo’s. A perfect place to grab some lunch before wrapping up your day. Their food drips in goodness and they boast a delicious Breakfast and Lunch menu full of sandwiches, breakfast tacos, breakfast plates, salads, and more!

Keep in mind that the cafe closes at 2pm so you’re going to want to plan accordingly.
